I need to have the text in these cells merged and centered across the span of the cells vertically. If I Right-Click my selection and select 'Format Cells', under the 'Alignment' tab under 'Text Control' the 'Merge Cells' option is also greyed out. I have selected the range of cells and there is 'No Fill' applied to the selection For the life of me I cannot figure it out, and the Microsoft Help text is useless because it assumes that the 'Merge and Center' icon is NOT greyed out. I will back up and give you better understanding of one of their simpler routines.
There are many routines which this same situation applies to. The routine name in this example is getlabels(), I will Attach the code below. The problem is that the original coding uses Vlookup where the RangeNames are not fully qualified. Whenever multiple workbooks are open and a CalculateAll is issued, all open workbooks start running the getlabels() function. Since the range names in the routine are not fully qualified, the inactive workbooks will pull their info from the ActiveWorkBook.

My current fix was to capture the calling workbook's name (via Application.caller.parent.parent.name) and the manuall change all range references in the function. This works but would be time consuming to change all of their routines. Upon further thought I considered that it would be easier to.Activate the workbook when it is found to be caller of the getlabels()function, thus making the Range references valid. This led me to the problem stated originally.
